Biodiversity in Creaton

Proposal
The Parish Council co-ordinate the creation of a Creaton Village Biodiversity Group (CVBG) with members drawn from all parts of the village, some with special interests, others with specialist knowledge. This Group would report to the Parish Council through whose offices support and advice from local authorities and organisations can be requested.

The mission of the Creaton Village Biodiversity Group would be as follows:

  • That the CVBG carry out a feasibility study of the development of managed ‘wild’ spaces within the confines of the Village Green, the churchyard of St Michael and All Angels and the civil parish churchyard
  • That the CVBG investigate other possible areas within the civil parish that could be managed in a manner that would offer opportunity for local flora and fauna to flourish
  • That the CVBG carry out a feasibility study of the management of these areas
  • That the CVBG explore ways in which gardening techniques and planting can assist in the promotion of a bio-diverse environment
  • That the CVBG promote these techniques in the village
