Village of the Year

2008

To win Best Newcomer in the Northamptonshire Calor Village of the Year Competition was an aspiration - and is now one that the village has achieved. But to go on and then win not only the Best Small Village category but the Overall Winner as well was a wonderful surprise. This accolade to the villagers and the organisations surely reflects what a wonderful place Creaton is to live.

David Scudamore, Chair of Northamptonshire ACRE said “This village has a great WOW factor and must be amongst the most desirable locations to live. The future of the villages is sure to be guaranteed by the young residents who take responsibility for the environment and are also active entrepreneurs in running their own business selling produce. 26 villagers put forward an incredible presentation highlighting the organisations in the village.”

The Village of the Year Competition aims to encourage and promote community development and adhesion. The Competition is launched in January every year and is open to all villages in Northamptonshire under 5000 in population.
